Just thinking

Family Date Night - the perfect swing for Brenden :)

How can jump higher?

Brenden has now learned the concept of running fast, and will show us how fast he can run everyday as he runs back and forth from one end of the house to the other. He also has learned the concept of winning - I think he gets that from his father. It is funny because we never taught him either one.

Best Friends!!

This is a daily view in our home since both boys drink from bottles.

(Brenden only has one at night, but they sure do add up fast)

Nathan is catching up! Brenden thinks it is the greatest thing that

Nathan is starting to do more.

Dad and Brenden doing there daily routine of just having fun!

This is one of Brenden's new favorite things to do. Matt has thrown

him around since day one, and both of them love it!

Sleeping and Talking but not sleep talking

Nathan's starting to respond a lot more, and Brenden loves it!

Brenden woke up a little early on Sunday morning. When it got to quiet I had to see what he was up to. He decided to snuggle with Nathan and fall asleep.

Nathan's Blessing Day

Nathan Alan Toone is named after his Grandpa Tingey. We were thrilled he was there to be apart of this special day!!

First Days Home

It is always so fun to bring a new little one home, and I think we are all exhausted after the whole hospital experience. This is one of Matt's favorite things - snuggling with his boys.

Nathan is a great sleeper, and is a huge snuggler!

Brenden loves Nathan already, and is a wonderful big brother. He constantly gives him kisses and whenever he cries he runs to his aid.

This explains itself. Long story short, we need to feed him by bottle to monitor he is getting enough to eat.

Baby Nathan

Our little family grew a couple of weeks ago as Nathan joined us. He was born July 22 at was 8 pounds and 19 inches. Nathan is such a good baby, and Brenden absolutely loves being a big brother. Brenden's only adjustment was wondering if Dad and Mom were going to be leaving him again. He instantly accepted his new baby brother, and loves holding and kissing him. Nathan is now 2 1/2 weeks old, and is now 8 pounds and almost 21 inches.

Fourth of July

We are so happy to hear that everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!! Again, Grandma Happy 90th birthday!! We had a wonderful fourth of July as a little family, but did think of all of you and how fun it would have been to be surrounded by family. Here are a few pictures we captured that day. Enjoy!!

Starting our day at the ward breakfast, we enjoyed meeting people, eating, and watching our little parader. :)

From there we had a family day with a family nap, games, and BBQ. The end of the day found us at the Air Force Memorial with hundreds of others ready to enjoy the fireworks from DC. Well long story short, everyone left early because the smoke stuck making it impossible for us to see. So, we sat on the trunk of our car while people waited in line to get out of the parking lot, and enjoyed a show that was coming from the direction of Alexandria. It was so much fun, and Brenden loved watching the fireworks.

WE LOVE YOU!!! Hope you had a wonderful fourth too!!

Brenden's Sweet Tooth

Brenden loves Grandma's frosted brownies as the video will speak for itself.

Big Boy Brenden!!!

Our little family is doing very well!! My tummy begins to grow with each passing week, and we continue to get excited for our little one to come this July. We are now in the home stretch as we have just hit our 30 week mark.

Frying Pan Farms

Brenden loved all of the things he saw at the farm. The animals were use to people and children, and so he was able to pet them.

One of his new favorite games is ring around the rosies. He also likes hide and seek, freeze dance, wrestling, and of coarse - anything that has to do with a ball. If we ask him to, he will now sing us a song - although we don't know what he is saying he is practicing for our Toone quartet.

Late Easter Update

We are now 26 weeks along, and life is great!! We are excited for our little arrival this July, but love every moment we have to watch Brenden grow. His personality continues to shine through with each day! It is so fun watching him change and being a Mom and Dad.

DC is amazing. We just had the Cherry Blossom Festival, which was beautiful! A way to describe the beauty of the blossoms would be an image of pink cotton candy against the brilliant green of other trees.

The following videos were taken at Easter time, and so they are a little old - but still good. I think we are a little bias in that we love our son. :)

It's A ....

This past Friday we got to learn the exciting news if we are having a little girl or another little boy. We are so grateful for this opportunity to have another child come into our home. Matt and I have felt all along that it was a girl up until about two weeks ago. We had no guesses going into the ultrasound what we were going to have.

That night we went on a little family date night to Roosevelt Island to open the envelop. We chose this place because it has become significant to our family for various reasons - mainly because it is a quiet and sacred place in the midst of a bustling city, signifying our desire to be in the world but not of it. Afterwards we picked out its first little outfit, and then went home to celebrate. It was a wonderful evening, and we are thrilled (we would have been thrilled either way) by the outcome.

We found out that we are having a little BOY!!!! We are thrilled that Brenden will have a little playmate, and that they will be so close in age. Hopefully they will become best friends throughout life.

We took some video of that night, so that you could share in the excitement with us.

The Big Announcement

This Weekend, in celebration, Matt and I went on a very romantic date in Old Towne Alexandria. We left Brenden with some friends of ours, and missed him the whole time. However, it was so fun to be just the two of us, and have a chance to talk about us, the baby, our family, and our future (it was like we were dating again). We parked at the top of the Main street of Alexandria, and walked 16 blocks through little mom and pop shops that are unique and sell everything you can imagine. The trees were lit up with lights, and we were surrounded by people enjoying the spring evening. As we got near the Potomac River, we stopped into a fun little restaurant called the Fish Market. There we enjoyed a taste from the sea, and a fun evening together. Afterwards we walked along the port and saw a lot of yachts and restaurants. The view of the Potomac River and DC in the distance was incredible. Alexandria is so unique with its history and its old fashion town. It was wonderful!!

We love Virginia, and everything that it has to offer. Here is one more video to enjoy of Brenden's love for excitement.

Heather and I have realized that our little baby boy is no longer a baby. Brenden, so quickly, has become a little boy. It is so fun to watch him learn and grow, change and develop, and see his little personality blossom. He now loves talking to mom and dad, and having long conversations with us. He also loves going outside, playing with balls, reading his books, seeing buses on the road, and finding any animal he can. We certainly love him.

We are excited this week to find out the gender of baby #2. Heather, Brenden, and I will go to the ultrasound this Friday and find out if we are having a boy or girl. We will announce it as soon as we know.

Below are just a few updated videos of Brenden and his crazy parents playing with him -- hopefully you can get a feel of how he is changing and growing up.

February 22, 2008

Brenden loves catching and throwing the ball with Dad! He is able to distinguish the difference between a basketball, football, and soccer ball.

Whenever you ask Brenden a question he always responds by raising his hand and saying, "ME."

Oh the "joys" of mobility

Everything becomes a game

He hasn't quite grasped the meaning, but he is really good at saying no.

His favorite games are thinking that he is to heavy to lift, and playing steam-roller with Dad. (Mom's tummy kind of gets in the way now)

This is one of his favorites. He usually isn't this excited with the Hooray portion, but he knew he was on camera.

Valentine's Day Licking

This was his favorite thing about Valentine's Day!

He is a duplicate of Matt in more ways then one!! :)

January 7, 2008

Brenden decided to walk after we returned home from visiting during the holidays. Now he is running, and trying to walk up and down the stairs without using his hands for support. He is growing up so fast!! This is him just starting off.

Valentine's Day and President's Day

We had a wonderful week this week with Valentine's Day, President's Day, and our first official appointment for our new little one.

Brenden is his Father's son, and thoroughly enjoyed licking the cake bowl for our Valentine's dessert (there were only egg whites :) ). He continues to grow with each passing day as he learns new words, discovers new things, reads new books, and learns more songs. His favorite song right now is "If your Happy and You Know it Clap Your Hands" (especially the hooray portion of the song).

Matt and I enjoyed celebrating our 2nd Valentine's Day together, and our love for each other continues to grow everyday.

We then celebrated President's Day by going and visiting President George Washington's home on Mt. Vernon. It was absolutely beautiful, and the scenery was incredible. We gain more and more respect for our President's and our founding father's as we learn more about the men the were.
